Work that looks way cooler than the sweaty reality

There's a version of this job that looks cool in pictures. Then there's the one you actually do.

The job: cut a new doorway into a conex pod and set it up to bridge a small creek on the new haunt path. Sounds like something off a movie set. Feels like two days of grinding, hauling, and sweating inside a steel box in July.

/ The Sweaty Part

Cutting a door into a conex is not glamorous. Mark it, cut it, dress the edges, brace the frame. Then the stuff around it — the structure under the bridge, the path up to it, the ground work. July in Kentucky doesn't care about your plans.

/ Why You Do It Anyway

But when the path opens this season, people will walk over that creek, through a conex doorway, and never think twice about how it got there. That's the point. The cool part isn't the work. It's that the work disappears into the thing you built.

Until the next run out — work hard, play hard.
