A full day in the shop on my Sprinter van — Vandalf. The goal: cabinets in, flooring down, one step closer to a van that actually lives like a home on wheels.
The cabinets came out of the shop first — bamboo, cut and assembled by hand. There's something about building the pieces yourself and then watching them go into the van exactly where you planned them. No off-the-shelf kit; just a pile of bamboo and a plan.
/ Cabinets In
Install day is where the plan meets the reality of a curved van wall. Bamboo cabinets are rigid, so every bracket and spacer has to be right the first time. A few hours of shimming and squaring later, they were in and solid.

/ The Heated Floor
Flooring came next — and not just any floor. Vandalf got a heated floor, with the base covering laid over the top. Cold mornings in the van stop being a problem when the floor itself is warm.

/ One Step Closer
End of the day, and Vandalf had a kitchen and a warm floor where there used to be empty walls. Van builds are a thousand small decisions stacked on each other — this was a good day of stacking.
Until the next run out — work hard, play hard.
