Vacation/Cruise with the Family

A family vacation cruise in April 2012 — with a caveat: I was still in full build-the-haunted-house mode, and it shows in the photos.

The haul from the trip is mostly haunt inspiration — pictures I grabbed with the Asylum in mind — plus a handful of family shots. Photos of the actual cruise? Near zero. That's the honest inventory.

/ The Inspiration

When you're building a haunted house, you never really clock out. Everywhere you look is a texture, a doorway, a lighting idea worth stealing for the haunt. The cruise was no exception.

The family shots are the keeper part. A few good ones of the people who actually made the trip worth taking.

Almost nothing to show for the cruise itself — which is its own kind of honest. Some trips you photograph everything. Some trips you live them and forget to point the camera at the point of it all.

Until the next run out — work hard, play hard.
