Exploring an abandoned mine

Driving Through an Abandoned Mine

Just exploring and having fun in my daily driver with some friends. No build, no prep, no agenda — just a bunch of us pointing the rigs at an abandoned mine and seeing what happened.

There's something about an abandoned mine that pulls you in. The road in is usually rough enough to keep most people out, which means it's quiet, and the history is written all over the place — old equipment, collapsed structures, and trails that haven't seen tires in years. Perfect day-driver material.

The fun part of this one was that nobody brought a built rig. These were everyday vehicles doing everyday-vehicle things — on terrain that politely disagreed. That's the beauty of a day like this: you don't need a rock crawler to have a good time, you just need a sense of adventure and friends who don't mind a few scrapes on the undercarriage.

The best part wasn't the terrain — it was the day around it. Poking through the old mine roads, stopping to look at what was left behind, and the kind of conversations that only happen when you're miles from anywhere with no cell service and nowhere to be.

No build, no prep, no agenda — just the daily driver, some friends, and an abandoned mine worth exploring.

The daily driver made it out with a few new battle scars and a good story. Some days you chase big expeditions; some days you just go exploring for fun with friends. Both count.

Until the next run out — work hard, play hard.
