AI Can't Catch a Fish

Another relaxing day of fishing. No agenda, no pressure — just a jet ski, a couple of rods, and a quiet stretch of Tampa Bay.

It started with rain clouds and a rainbow. By the time the sun broke through, the bite had picked up — some trout, a few sharks, and a whole lot of catch and release.

Nothing we kept. Just good fish and the kind of slow morning where you stop checking the time. The sharks kept it honest — they hit hard and pull line like they mean it.

It was hot and relaxing, and somewhere out there I kept coming back to the same thought: an AI doesn't get to do this. It doesn't load up a jet ski, run out on the water, and just sit with a rod and think.

Not everything is getting replaced. The patience, the quiet, the little jolt when something takes the bait — that's still ours. AI can write about a day like this. It can't have one.

Good fish, good weather, a rainbow to start — days like this are the reason I'd rather be on the water than in front of another screen.

Until the next run out — work hard, play hard.
