A Vehicle Isn't One Thing

The Jeep rigged as a snowplow

The Jeep with the plow mounted — same vehicle, different job.

I found the perfect use case for the Jeep this winter: it's now a snowplow rig. Plow mounted, top and doors back on, ready for the season.

The Jeep was built for rocks. Now it clears the driveway. Same vehicle, different job.

/ A Vehicle Isn't One Thing

We label things by what they were bought for. The Jeep is an off-roader. The laptop is for work. The snowplow is for snow. But the moment you stop treating the label as the limit, the tool turns out to have more range than you gave it credit for.

The Jeep didn't stop being an off-roader when I bolted a plow to it. It just became an off-roader and a snowplow. The trick isn't buying more tools — it's refusing to let one tool have only one job.

/ The Same Rule Applies to People and Systems

Same lesson at work. The teammate you filed under one role can do another. The system you built for one problem can absorb a second. The repurposing is usually cheaper than the new build — you just have to be willing to see the plow on the Jeep.

Until the next run out — work hard, play hard.
